Tanning indoor

Tips on using a spray tan booth

Have you ever thought about using a spray tan booth? It is a perfectly safe alternative to sun light tanning and it is very effective too. Usually, you should find one in an indoor tanning salon. There, the personnel should offer you all the information you need on how to use it and what you should expect from such an interesting device.

Prior to going in you should remember to carefully exfoliate your body, shave and shower. You don’t suppose to get inside with any other indoor tanning lotion than the ones that are to be provided by the tanning salon staff.

Then, you will have to undress, put a hair cap, which will be also provided by the personnel, over your head in order not to expose your forehead too much and avoid stretches. After this, you should use the barrier lotion handed over to you and apply it on the sensitive areas of your body. Start with your fingernails, in between your fingers continue with the palms of your hands, then go on with your toenails, between your toes and also over your heels of your feet.

After this, you should simply go inside the booth and stand into the position indicated by the salon staff. Once you are in the correct position, you will need to push one button, hold your breath for a couple of seconds (around 15 seconds) and also keep your eyes closed. After this, you will change positions as instructed, hold your breath again and close your eyes until the tanning mist is spread all over you. Once everything has ended, you will exit.

Pending on the spray tan booth you are using, you may have to dry off using a towel or not. If you are required to use a towel, remember not to push too hard on it, just make sure that you are completely dry off in order to avoid the appearance of stretches afterwards. If you are not required to use a towel, most likely you will be dried off by the nozzles.

After this, you can take out the hair cap, get dressed and you are good to go. Afterwards, you shouldn’t hit the shower for at least 6 or 7 hours in order not to affect the results of the tanning process. Be careful that it may rub off your clothes, although it should be easily removed during washing. Most of the spray tan booths have an effect that will last just over a week, but this may have to do with your skin’s properties, its color and how well it is hydrated and so on.

One session using a spray tan booth will cost you around 30$ but I guess buying a subscription should prove more effective and cheaper on the long run. My advice to you would be to go on a month to month basis.

The only question remaining is if this is safe or not. Well, when dealing with a spray mist containing DHA working as a tanning trigger, you must consider the protection of your eyes, lips and any mucous membranes. Also, you should avoid inhaling the spray booth mist. The active ingredient behind this, the DHA, is a chemical that works on the amino acids in the dead skin cells in order to produce the darkening effect. Because DHA is affecting only these dead cells, the tan will only last for a few days and needs a constant reapplication.

If you follow the simple rules given to you by the tanning salon personnel, you should enjoy a beautiful tan and keep your skin healthy and smooth.
