Although for centuries tanning was associated with summer and sea-side, modern technology has made it possible to acquire and maintain it for 12 months a year without needing the actual sunlight. Of course, I am talking about indoor tanning and foremost about tanning beds.
Usually, you could find them in an indoor tanning salon or, if you can afford it, you can even bring it at home. So what would the tanning bed supplies consist of? Well, I think it’s naturally to think about tanning bed lotions. They work as a tanning accelerators enabling, at the same time, the skin protection we all desire and need. They can be applied before or even after you came out of the tanning bed. That is possible because the tanning process continues long after you are no longer in the sight of the light bulbs. The tanning beds lotions are controlling the tanning process by increasing the body’s production of melanin and that’s why it contains this special amino acid called tyrosine. Melanin is the body compound that accelerates and controls the darkening process of your skin cells. Moreover, this tyrosine is also known to be a powerful antioxidant which means that it will help your skin by properly cleaning its pores. Most of these tanning bed supplies also contain Vitamin E which is an antioxidant too and will help cleaning the pores as well and will reduce the visibility of scars or any skin flaws.

The UV rays that will land on your skin will cause a drying effect and this is why every indoor tanning lotion will contain a moisturizer which will counteract this effect and will enforce the skin with nutrients that will make it resist longer. Another important thing to bear in mind is that studies have shown that moisturized skin tans better than dried skin.
Tanning bed supplies came in different size and shape. Some of these lotions are simply tan accelerators, some have additional moisturizers that will protect and nurture your skin along the tanning process. You need to choose carefully the product that best suits your body’s needs and if you are a beginner you could ask for help to the tanning salon personnel. In the end, you need to remember that there is no number one tanning bed lotion as it all depends on each individual’s features, preferences, skin type and tanning experience.
For instance, if you haven’t tanned for a while, you shouldn’t be using a tanning lotion that would intensify the tan or has a tingle effect. However, a beginner could use a bronzing based lotion. A more experienced tanner will always look for the perfect combination within a lotion that will enable him to get the desired effect sooner and better.
When choosing the item you want to use, you should bear in mind that there not really many ways in which an already good tanning product can be improved over the new releases. All that can be added is the texture and the particular smell of the lotion. Things like anti aging compounds, tingle factors and fragrance triggers are all just a way to reformulate and redesign an already good product. Although manufactures will always brag about the newly items, the best products remain those that actually serve and you know that suit best your skin and body’s individual features. The marketing idea is that if you keep selling and promoting the old stuff you will lose ground and market share against the competition and this is why there is an unsettling need for improvement and innovation, like in any other domain.
